“Gardens are the result of a collaboration between art and nature.”

Penelope Hobhouse

My goal is to create beautiful and practical spaces to suit each of my individual clients.

Based in Devon and convenient for Somerset, Dorset and Cornwall but will undertake commissions throughout the UK.

My lifelong deep interest in the natural world has been the influence and at the core of my design philosophy.

I initially trained in horticulture at Merrist Wood in 1999, receiving both best student of the year award and the student who contributed most. Shortly after graduating I followed my dream to do conservation work with orangutans in South East Asia for a number of years. The time spent in this magical place and first account eye witnessing the devastation caused to the animal kingdom through deforestation had a profound effect on me.

I am also passionate about horticultural therapy and have seen first hand the huge benefits of this with elderly patients effected by dementia, Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease.

The call of horticulture never left me and I retrained in Garden Design at The Garden Design School with the highly esteemed teachers Robin Templar Williams and Moira Farnham.
